Incorporate Oats ( a high Calorie/Carb foodstuff....so limit intake to meet Cal/Carb  goals) into your diet as much as possible (helps decrease colesterol build-up).  Oatmeal, Oat Cereal, Oat nutrition bars are just starters.  Please give this page some good Oat Recipes (hopefully those that keep the calories/carbs down !). dm

3 ozs. of meat is equal to approximately one deck of cards (size portion).  Example: A serving of steak the size of a deck of cards is 3 ozs. and contains 183 Calories/0 Carbs. A serving of salmon the size of a deck of cards is 3 ozs. and contains 155 Cals./0 Carbs.  A serving of turkey breast the size of a deck of cards is 3 ozs. and contains 115 Cals./0 Carbs.

Did you know ? ........A McDonald's cheeseburger has 320 Calories/35 Carbs........ the hamburger bun itself contains 123 Calories/21.6 Carbs !!!!!

When eating out it is important to "portion" what you actually eat, so make use of the "take-out" container.  A recent program on "dieting recommends you actually ask for "take-out" container prior to eating.  For example:  Order the "McDonalds Cheeseburger", but eat only half and use "take-out" container to bring balance home ......for someone else to eat, or for your dog !!!!!!!

Did you know ? ....... One slice of white bread is "100" on the glycemic index.  White bread was originally used to establish the index and the high end was assigned to white bread.  In other words, "white bread" is NOT good !!!!!

Did you know ? ....... To lose 1 pound, you must burn 3500 excess calories (500 calories per day over the course of seven days).  If you reduce your calorie intake by 300 calories a day and increase your activity to burn 200 extra calories per day, you can expect a steady weight loss of approximately one pound per week
